Refer to the 2021 edition of the National Health Commission’s “Children’s Immunization Program Vaccine Procedures and Instructions”; this article is divided into three parts:

1- Free vaccinations

2- Vaccination at your own expense

3- Precautions for vaccination

A class of free vaccines is shown in the figure:

Inactivated hepatitis A vaccine is free in Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Shanghai, and Jiangsu; chickenpox vaccine is free in Shanghai, Tianjin, and other places

Free vaccines are vaccines that are provided by the government to citizens for free and must be vaccinated without special circumstances. It is recommended to arrange vaccination as soon as possible when the baby reaches the corresponding month old. If such vaccines are not vaccinated, it may affect the baby’s admission to nursery, kindergarten, school, or even going abroad.

Class II self-funded vaccines

Self-funded vaccines generally belong to the second category of vaccines. There are many imported vaccines, but the price is small and expensive. It is a vaccine that children’s parents choose voluntarily and pay for their own vaccination. It is a powerful supplement to free vaccines and can provide children with more extensive protection.

The country is not yet able to give us free of charge, but as long as conditions permit, parents should try to vaccinate their children; they are all to prevent diseases with high morbidity, easy to cause serious illness, and easy to leave sequelae; the following six types of vaccines are recommended :

‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍Penta vaccine

The price of each injection is 624, and a total of 4 injections are required; one vaccine prevents five diseases, which refers to the combined vaccine of diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, polio, and Haemophilus influenza.

Tips: Penta vaccine contains three vaccine components: DTP, inactivated polio, and Haemophilus influenzae (Hib). A total of 4 injections are required; 8 injections are required less than traditional vaccines, and there are eight fewer trips to the hospital, that is, eight fewer possible vaccine reactions.

Vaccination time: 2 months, 3 months, 4 months, and 18 months, 1 dose each. Or 1 dose each at 3 months, 4 months, 5 months, and 18 months.

13-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine

723 yuan per injection, 4 injections; pneumococcal infection can cause severe invasive meningitis, sepsis and pneumonia, and other diseases, as well as common diseases such as sinusitis and otitis media.

The White Paper on Incidence of Pneumonia in Children and Vaccine Popularization in China shows that pneumonia is one of the main causes of death in children under 5 years old. For infants and young children whose immune systems have not yet developed, pneumonia caused by pneumococcus is a very common Respiratory disease, the 13-valent pneumococcal vaccine can effectively help babies fight infections caused by some of the most common pneumococcal serotypes.

WHO recommends the inclusion of the pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV) in the global childhood immunization schedule.

Vaccination time: at 2 months, 3 months, 4 months, and 12-15 months of the baby respectively; the first injection of 13-valent vaccine should not be later than 5 months of the baby. At least 1-month interval between two doses; 1 booster dose at 12-15 months of age.

If you haven’t called in 7 months. Just take the domestic 13-valent pneumonia vaccine, two injections at 7-11 months old, and one additional injection after 12 months of age

Pentavalent rotavirus attenuated vaccine:

305 yuan per injection, 3 injections;

Rotavirus is a highly contagious gastrointestinal virus that is difficult to prevent. The main infection targets are babies under the age of 5, which manifests as vomiting, diarrhea, fever, and severe dehydration in some cases.

Although rotavirus is not the only cause of severe diarrheal disease, it is one of the most common pathogens. It usually occurs from November to March of the next year, also known as autumn diarrhea. The risk of infection exists throughout the year. The best way to prevent it is to get vaccinated.

The rota vaccine is taken orally. Do not eat or drink for half an hour before and after the vaccination. In order to prevent the baby from spitting up milk, it will affect the amount of vaccination.

Vaccination time: The first dose is given at 6-12 weeks of age, after which every two doses should be given 4-10 weeks apart, and the third dose must be completed before 32 weeks of age. The first injection should not be later than the baby’s 84 days.

Tips: Pentavalent rotavirus vaccine, if one dose is overdue, this dose and the remaining doses cannot be vaccinated.

EV71 Hand, Foot and Mouth Vaccine

193 yuan, 2 doses of vaccination; common infectious diseases in children, mainly children aged 5 and below, and the high incidence period from April to June. The disease is common in children, and effective prevention and treatment measures are lacking. Vaccination is the most cost-effective way to prevent and control the disease.

my country’s CDC “Guidelines for Advocating the Application of Virus Type 71 Inactivated Vaccines” recommends 2 doses of vaccination between 6 months of age and 5 years of age.

The sooner the better, the two doses should be given at least 1 month apart.

Chickenpox Vaccine

Chickenpox is a common disease and is highly contagious. The susceptible population is 12 months old to 12 years old. The infection rate of chickenpox is 65%-100%; the chickenpox vaccine is the only means of preventing chickenpox infection. Not only does it prevent chickenpox, but it also prevents complications from chickenpox shingles.

Recommendation: The first dose is administered after the age of 1. Tips: Some provinces and cities have included the vaccine in the immunization plan; the second dose is recommended after the age of 4.

Flu vaccine

The price is not fixed, and the vaccine is vaccinated from September to October every year; this vaccine is very expensive and should be grabbed frequently. You can make an appointment in the app in advance, otherwise, it will be really difficult.

Diseases to be prevented: Influenza caused by the influenza virus can be prevented. This disease is a highly transmissible infectious disease, which can seriously lead to complications such as pneumonia, myocarditis, and chronic bronchitis. Babies under 5 years old, especially 2 years old The following babies are more susceptible than adults.

When to vaccinate: Children and adults over 6 months of age should be vaccinated annually. For specific vaccination procedures, please refer to the instructions of different brands of vaccines.

Vaccination precautions

1- Read the “Informed Consent Form for Vaccination” before vaccination to understand vaccine contraindications and adverse reactions

2- If your baby has taken medicine recently, inform the doctor.

3- Check the vaccine protection period before injection, whether the production batch matches the vaccine

4- Do not vaccinate while sleeping, so as not to be frightened.

5- After 30 minutes of observation after inoculation, there will be no reaction and will leave again.

6- The injection site should not be wet for 24 hours, try not to take a bath

7- A few days after the vaccination, pay attention to drinking more water and resting your baby

8- Observe your baby’s body temperature after vaccination

9- Common adverse reactions: slight fever, irritability, lethargy, poor appetite, etc. Don’t worry too much, if there are special circumstances, seek medical attention in time.

Attenuated and inactivated vaccines

Deactivation: that is to catch the bad guys and kill them

Detoxification: Catch the Bad Guys, Abolish Kung Fu

Both vaccines are different methods of stimulating the body to produce antibodies, and both are safe for babies with normal immunotherapy. Parents are generally afraid of giving their children an attenuated vaccine, which is stronger and more durable; usually a single shot. For example, A single shot of BCG provides life-long immunity.

The hepatitis B inactivated vaccine requires three shots. Which one, depending on age,

JE live attenuated vaccine is one of the few domestically exported vaccines and has been recommended and certified by the World Health Organization.

Hepatitis A vaccine: The free inactivated vaccine only needs one injection, the effect is good, and the response is a little bigger than the inactivated vaccine; the self-funded hepatitis A vaccine is inactivated and requires two injections, with an interval of half a year, and the protective effect may be better than that of the inactivated vaccine. Slightly worse, safety and vaccine response will be better.

What to do if the vaccine is out of stock

1- Go to different community hospitals for consultation, expand the scope to find, first-tier cities or private hospitals, such as United Family, Zhuozheng, Jiahui, etc.;

2- If you really can’t make an appointment, find me again. It can help babies achieve vaccine freedom, nice
